Besides two shorter breaks during the day, there will be a 30 minute mid-day break. Please bring a bag lunch with you for orientation. Basic office kitchen accommodations are available for use. Please note that daily end time during orientation days may vary depending upon how many people are in attendance. End time does not typically exceed 4:30pm but may end earlier. Thank you!

SAC, HSB 1&2-SoPo office-Part 1 of 2

This class will take place at the South Portland office. It will take place over 2 days, you must be present for both days to attend this class. This advanced module classes are for those holding a current core Safety Care certificate (or within 90 day grace period of expiration date). First priority given to those working in a current ESY program through Day Tx/School Based Services.  You must have a supervisors approval to sign up for this class.  Please see training calendar for additional safety care classes. Thank you!   School Age Children (SAC) This is a Safety Care advanced module for employees working with small children. You must get approval from your supervisor and hold a current Safety Care Certificate in order to take this class.   SAC module provides supplemental training specific to a younger population. It includes training in classroom and group management, additional procedures for intervening physically with smaller individuals who are behaving dangerously, and a small person carry procedure. You must get approval from your supervisor and hold a current Safety Care Certificate in order to take this class. Competencies include: Characteristics and setting for individuals who demonstrate very dangerous behaviors/Rear Hair pull release/Rear choke release/Head lock release/Team intervention strategies/Triad tactics/3 person supine stability hold/Floor hold transitions Please contact Gregin Doxsee at gregind@connectionsforkids.org or Jonathan Shardlow at jonathans@connectionsforkids.org for more info or to sign up. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ High Severity Behaviors  (HSB2) This is a Safety Care advanced module for employees working with children how demonstrate more complex challenging behaviors and is the second of two available courses for managing clients with complex behavioral challenges.  You must get approval from your supervisor and hold a current Safety Care Certificate in order to take this class.
