Safety Care Advanced Modules

February 20 @ 8:30 am - 4:30 pm

This is a bundled curriculum, please plan on attending all 3 classes unless you otherwise get approval from the Connections Department to take only one of the classes offered on this day. You must hold a current safety care certificate or be within your 90 day grace period to attend.

Please wear comfortable, athletic clothing and closed toed shoes. Also, please plan on bringing a brown bag lunch with you, including snacks. This class will take place at the South Portland office, 100 Gannett Drive South Portland. Thank you.

School Age Children (SAC)

This is a Safety Care advanced module for employees working with small children.  SAC module provides supplemental training specific to a younger population. It includes training in classroom and group management, additional procedures for intervening physically with smaller individuals who are behaving dangerously, and a small person carry procedure.

High Severity Behaviors 1 (HSB1)

This is a Safety Care advanced module for employees working with children how demonstrate more complex challenging behaviors.

Competencies include: Characteristics and setting for individuals who demonstrate very dangerous behaviors/Rear Hair pull release/Rear choke release/Head lock release/Team intervention strategies/Triad tactics/3 person supine stability hold/Floor hold transitions

High Severity Behaviors  (HSB2)

This is a Safety Care advanced module for employees working with children how demonstrate more complex challenging behaviors and is the second of two available courses for managing clients with complex behavioral challenges.
