A Kittery Academy Special Education teacher holds a degree in special education and has or is eligible for Maine 282 Special Education certification. Kittery Academy is a small, special education, special purpose private school serving students grades 7-12 within an intimate, homelike school environment. Kittery Academy serves students who have struggled with attending school consistently due to their challenges with anxiety, depression, PTSD, trauma history, etc. Kittery Academy is a therapeutic, clinically based school where students move at their own pace, participate in group counseling daily and engage in lots of community based programming and activities.
